Privacy Policy

How the night.glass website and the Nightglass app handle your information, in plain English. Last updated November 3, 2026.

Who we are

Nightglass and this website are run by Visualize Build LLC ("we"). Questions or requests about your information are welcome at hello@night.glass.

The short version

  • This website has no forms, sign-ups, or ads, and it doesn't collect email addresses through the site right now. Our host, Cloudflare, processes request information to run the site and shows us aggregate traffic numbers.
  • The Nightglass app keeps your documents on your computer unless you choose an action that sends them.
  • The app has no analytics or telemetry, and we run no server that receives your documents.

This website

The site is a set of static pages hosted by Cloudflare. Every visit passes through Cloudflare, which processes request information, such as your IP address, your browser type, and the pages you request, to serve and protect the site. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Cloudflare's dashboard shows us aggregate traffic numbers for the site: unique visitors, total requests, the percentage of traffic served from cache, data served, and the most requested pages. Cloudflare builds these numbers from its own records of requests, so they don't rely on a script or a cookie on our pages.

Cloudflare also asks browsers to send it a report if a connection to the site fails. Cloudflare says these reports contain no personally identifiable information.

Our pages load their code and images from night.glass only, with no third-party scripts or embedded content.

If you email us, we receive your address and your message and use them to reply. Our email runs on Google's service, so Google processes those messages too.

Cookies and browser storage

This site doesn't use tracking cookies. When we checked every page on November 3, 2026, no cookies were set at all.

Cloudflare can set its own security cookie in some cases, for example to screen traffic during abuse or to remember that a visitor passed a challenge. Cloudflare's cookie list explains them.

If you dismiss the notice at the bottom of the page, your browser saves a small note in its local storage so the notice stays closed. The note isn't a cookie and isn't sent to us. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes it.

The Nightglass app

Nightglass runs on your computer. Your documents stay there unless you choose an action that sends them. The app has no analytics or telemetry, its crash reporter doesn't upload anything, and we run no server that receives your documents.

Some features connect to other services or involve sending something. As with any internet connection, the service on the other end can see your IP address.

  • License checks go to Lemon Squeezy with your license key and a random device label. Your documents aren't part of them.
  • Purchases and payment details are handled by Lemon Squeezy. See its privacy policy.
  • Cloud Sync is off unless you turn it on. It keeps PDFs in a Nightglass folder in sync with your own Google Drive or Dropbox, uploading and downloading whole files, and it never deletes them. It reads your account's email address or identity to show which account is connected. The app talks to your provider directly, with no server of ours in between, and keeps its sign-in tokens encrypted by your computer's keychain. Your provider's terms and privacy policy cover those files once they're there: Google, Dropbox.
  • Pixel, the optional assistant, runs on your computer. Its first setup downloads an engine and a model from GitHub and Ollama's registry.
  • Trusted timestamps, if you turn them on, send a hash of your document to a server you name. A hash is a short fingerprint calculated from the file, not the file itself.
  • Report a Problem builds a redacted zip file that you send yourself by email. It reaches us only if you send it.
  • Automatic updates aren't active yet. We'll update this page when that changes.

Google user data

This section applies if you connect Google Drive through Cloud Sync.

  • What Nightglass accesses: your Google account's email address, and, through Google's drive.file permission, only the Drive files Nightglass creates or that you open or share with it. That permission doesn't reach the rest of your Drive.
  • How Nightglass uses it: to sync PDFs between your computer and your own Drive, uploading and downloading them, and to show which account is connected. Nightglass never deletes your Drive files.
  • Storage and sharing: synced files and your connection stay on your computer and in your own Drive. Your sign-in tokens are encrypted by your computer's keychain. Your Google data doesn't pass through any server of ours, and we don't sell it or share it with anyone.
  • AI: Nightglass doesn't use Google user data to develop, improve, or train AI or machine learning models. If you ask Pixel about a synced document you have open, Pixel reads it on your computer.
  • Removing access: you can remove Nightglass from your Google Account permissions at any time.

Nightglass's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Changes to this policy

When what the site or the app does with your information changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
